Founded in New York and now in 9 major cities worldwide, General Assembly is an educational institution that transforms thinkers into creators with programs in technology, business and design. ha wan pao is a monthly paper with a cult following about people who make beautiful things. This talk will be about how it started, the intention of the publication, a little about the design process, editorial stance and how much fun it’s been to create.
Anna Gleeson is a multi-media artist, illustrator and publisher. Originally from Australia, after stints in Berlin, New York and Tokyo she is now based in Hong Kong. Her recent work – a series of pochoirs of dresses and vessels – can be seen upstairs at Teakha through til the end of June.

Looking at the environmental crisis our world is facing, upcyling product designer Kevin Cheung (張瑋晉) believes that designs have to be sustainable by enriching the environment, users as well as the society. Instead of continually draining new resources/materials to create new products, Kevin is experimenting with waste materials, reusing them to create new products and also collaborating with different NGOs to produce the products locally. He wishes to inspire people to have a new perspective of how products are being made, consumed and disposed.

Bringing the past back to present, The Yesterdayskin is a very personal label collecting reformed vintage pieces. Founded in Spring 2010, by Hong Kong based fashion designer Eileen Chan. We focus on potential but not-so-perfect vintage findings. Forgotten outfits and accessories are handpicked from all over the world, restyled and reconstructed by us into new fashionable looks. All pieces are unique yet affordable, we want to share with all fashion lovers the treasures we found from history.
